# OMNIVERSE-MATRIX — Stage 3 Research Progress

**Research checkpoint** | 2 November 2026
**Status:** Stage 3, Questions 1–4 completed
**Manuscript:** unchanged (historical working draft remains v0.4.8)

## Current framework architecture

The current working architecture retains three fundamental physical variables:

- **Matter**
- **Energy**
- **Mass**

Time is not treated as a fourth fundamental variable. Temporal succession is being investigated as an emergent or relational feature rather than a fundamental coordinate.

The broader OMNIVERSE-MATRIX proposal remains a speculative thought experiment. Its metaphysical and ontological postulates have not been established by the mathematical investigations.

## Stage 3 — Four research foundations

### 1. Timeless containment
A fixed mathematical structure can contain multiple configurations or represent complete histories without itself evolving.

**Limitation:** Mathematical representation does not establish that every represented configuration is physically realized.

### 2. Non-permanent splits
Existing mathematical structures can represent alternative configurations, divergent paths, shared origins, and possible convergence. Separate branches are not necessarily permanent or isolated.

**Limitation:** A mathematical split does not establish a physical branching mechanism.

### 3. Null-configuration possibility
The absence of localized Matter, Energy, and Mass does not logically entail the absence of underlying structure.

**Limitation:** An explicit mathematical construction of a null configuration within the proposed architecture remains open.

### 4. Multi-node overlap
Multiple nodes can relate to overlapping or distinct configurations within one shared structure. Their accessible subsets need not be disjoint.

**Limitation:** Describing possible patterns of access does not explain what governs access.

## Central unresolved problem: Localization

We can describe how multiple nodes may access a shared structure, but we have not yet explained what governs that access.

The next investigation will examine existing mathematical selection and restriction mechanisms before proposing any framework-specific mechanism.

## Research constraints

- Preserve the three-variable architecture: Matter, Energy, Mass.
- Do not introduce Time or consciousness as a fourth fundamental physical variable.
- Do not assume that nodes choose their configurations.
- Do not assume that consciousness determines physical reality.
- Do not assume that the Source requires a local observer.
- Distinguish established mathematics and physics from proposed extensions and philosophical ontology.
- Do not treat mathematical accessibility as proof of physical realization.

This research checkpoint does not revise the manuscript. It records the progress and limitations of the ongoing thought experiment and invites critical mathematical and scientific examination.
